Rising Stars
Lexi Channing has been training/performing in theatre & film since she was 9 years old. "Always writing, sketching and painting, she was quiet and shy around people, UNTIL you put her on stage, so it was important to get that "stage presence" to spill over into everyday life", says her father. Lexi's first experience with performing arts was during a semester at Tyler Civic Theatre where she developed an interest for script writing and directing. She later found Dallas Young Actors Studio in Farmers Branch, where they have a program for Teen Producers. Not quite at the age to start handling high dollar studio equipment she decided to enroll in the school as an actress instead. She gained valuable confidence & knowledge of the industry through improvs, student productions, green screen techniques, voice overs and auditions. This fall Lexi began a program at KD Studio in Dallas where she enjoyed learning all about the fashion industry. Most recently she performed in "Without Strings" at our own Henderson County Performing Arts Center and enjoyed it so much that she has chosen theatre as her focus. HCPAC has been providing a creative outlet for kids since 1989 and has a great summer camp program that is just around the corner. Don't miss it!

Athens has become her home since moving here from Colorado a year and a half ago and she can't see herself living anywhere else. She has two boys ages 10 and 12 who are her pride and joy and is married to the love of her life, TVCC Band Director Mike Matchael. Art has been Danielas passion since early on in her life. A working artist for now approximately 22 yrs, she has a fine arts degree from Panamerica School of Arts in Sao Paulo, Brazil. but sees herself as a self taught artist. Most of what she learned, says the artist, was through working with different artist in Brazil and teaching art to people of all ages. Daniela is extremely involved with community services and organizations and would love to see the arts in Athens, TX flourish.
